At All Times

Author: Joshua Sustache
Psalm 34:1
I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise will be in my mouth continuously.

Lately, I’ve been extremely concerned with the future. I’ve been disturbed and emotionally affected by decision process. My control freak mentality has come out and has played a war on my heart and mind. However, today my trains of thoughts have changed. Today, as I was having my jamming session in my car on my daily routine from work, I heard Mary Allessi’s song “I will bless the Lord (At all times)”. I was singing along when I realized that this was God speaking. Just as the Psalmist said and encourage us to do, I started praising him. My attitude changed because I realized that I was focusing on the wrong thing. I shouldn't worry about what I can’t control. I should be praising and giving thanks because everything I do is in His hands. And I know we’ve heard this a thousand times (or at least I have). But isn't this something so simple yet so hard to accomplish?

Trusting in God is most likely one of the biggest tests we must face as Christians. We’re having to completely surrender, trust in Him, and completely love Him without reserves, and that for me takes a lot of effort. It takes courage to be a follower of Christ.

I encourage you to not give up but to praise the Lord in the storm, in the valley and on top of the mountain. Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, or whenever you feel like you have to, praise Him. Join me; let’s do this at all times.
